Donations While YMCA members use our free weights, Coca-Cola Fitness Studio, and cardio equipment to improve their strength and endurance, YMCA donors use their financial resources to help enrich personal lives and improve community life across the city of Ottumwa. The financial support of individuals, corporations, and foundations help the YMCA to explore career paths with youth who may be the first in their families to attend college, to create opportunities for single mothers who have no or very little work experience, and to reinvigorate youth and adults who are at risk of abuse and exploitation. The Ottumwa YMCA is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Donations to the YMCA are used efficiently. Over the last four years, more than 90 cents of every dollar spent at the YMCA was spent on the costs of our programs and services.
